Five common reasons a plumbing, electrical or roofing website gets visitors but no phone calls, and how to fix each one.
01
Your phone number is hard to find
Most people looking for a tradesperson are on a phone and in a hurry. If they have to scroll or hunt for your number, many of them won't bother.
Put a tap-to-call button at the top of every page, and keep it visible as people scroll.
02
The site is slow on a phone
A page that takes several seconds to appear on a mobile connection loses visitors before they see anything. Large uncompressed photos and heavy page builders are the usual cause.
Check your site with Google's free PageSpeed Insights tool. If the mobile score is low, that's the first thing to fix.
03
It doesn't say where you work
"Serving the greater area" doesn't help a homeowner or Google. Name the towns and neighbourhoods you cover, and give your main service areas their own pages.
04
There's no proof
Visitors want to see real jobs, real reviews, and that you're licensed and insured. Stock photos of smiling models in hard hats don't build trust. Photos of your own work do.
05
There's no clear next step
Every page should end with one obvious action: call now, or request a quote. If there are five competing buttons, people often choose none of them.
